Enersem is a spin-off of the Politecnico di Milano University. We deal with energy efficiency and decarbonisation.

Enersem was involved in analysing energy use in Italian PDO production, contributing to the development of EDSS, the tool for calculating and reducing the product environmental footprint.

We propose two solutions to the world of GIs:

1. Our energy management system, online software for analysing and saving energy in production processes. The software collects production and energy usage data, the most important variables of the production process under consideration, and, thanks to algorithms designed ad hoc by our energy engineers and mathematicians, is able to identify energy waste and reduce it.
2. EDSS, the environmental decision support software for measuring and reducing the environmental footprint of products. With EDSS, developed as part of the Life TTGG project, in which oriGIn is also a partner, you can measure your product environmental footprint, your water and carbon footprint, and your scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions. EDSS is an essential tool to know and communicate your product’s environmental footprint and identify the most effective improvement measures. EDSS complies with the most stringent environmental product reporting standards, in line with the EU Green Claims Directive.

We promote the EDSS to GI consortia in the EU and worldwide.

EDSS is currently used by producers of Grana Padano, Asiago and Prosciutto di Parma. We are promoting together with Grana Padano, partner in the project and co-owner of the software, the adoption by other consortia in Italy.
