On April 6, 2023, the Government of Tunisia formally joined the Geneva Act of the WIPO Lisbon Agreement on appellations of origin and geographical indications. Renowned products’ name, like “Figues de Djebba”, “Huile d’olive Téboursouk”, “Muscat de Kelibia” and “Coteaux de Tebourba” can now be protected internationally under the system, through a single registration procedure and one set of fees.
The Geneva Act will enter into force for Tunisia on July 6, 2023, covering 17 Contracting Parties and 55 jurisdictions.
