The 13th and the 14th December, oriGIn organizes in Casablanca, in partnership with the “Office Marocain de la Propriété Industrielle et Commerciale” (OMPIC), the French “Institut National de la Propriété Industrielle” (INPI), the “Organisation Africaine de la Propriété Intellectuelle” (OAPI) – and with the support of the French Ministry of Agriculture- a workshop on “GIs & Africa”.
The workshop aims to encourage the African groups to use GIs as a sustainable development tool and to share best practices in respect of protection, management and marketing strategies. The President of oriGIn, the Vice-President for Africa, several African oriGIn members, as well as the oriGIn representative for Africa, will attend to the workshop. The event will also be an opportunity to launch the procedures of the establishment of “oriGIn Africa”.
