Over the years, oriGIn played a key role in ensuring that the EU GIs regulations strengthened key provisions, such as administrative (ex officio) protection and the recognition of the role of groups in protection and promotion activities.
Likewise, oriGIn works to further strengthen GIs provisions, as well as to simplify and harmonize the EU quality policy, in the context of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) post 2020.
