
On January 28-29, the Geographical Indications (GI) Conference: “Safeguarding Our Heritage, Cultivating Our Future” will be held in Alicante. The event is organised by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), in collaboration with the European Commission (the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, DG GROW, and the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development, DG AGRI.
oriGIn – with its Director Massimo Vittori – and several of its members – including the “Consorzio Parmigiano Reggiano”, the “Comité Champagne”, the Scotch Whisky Association and “Origen España”, will participate and deliver presenations in key panel session: Agri GI reform (Panel II), Lifecycle of craft and agri GIs (Panel III), GIs and Sustainability (Panel IV), Trademarks, GIs and GI enforcement (Panel V), and Significance of GIs Worldwide (Panel VI).
